You Crushed Me

by | Mar 6, 2024 | Poetry

Yea, I told you that I loved you that night,
you didn’t respond
Oh, I told you that I loved you that night,
you didn’t respond
I listened to my phone ring but I realized it wasn’t you
We didn’t have that bond, which gave me the blues

Well, I sat by the window
with my head in my hands,
Well, I sat by the window
with my head in my hands
I must’ve missed her,
She was my pretty flamingo

Passing by me on that rainy night
Yes I cried
Passing by me on that rainy night
Yes I cried
My heart felt it was ripped out and threw in the trash
And I was tossed just like ashes

I looked in her doe eyes and felt
No shine in her light
I looked in her doe eyes and felt
No shine in her light
I guess there was no sight for me
So it was time I leave

Learning to move on it’s harder than it seems,
I know you’ve found someone else
Learning to move on it’s harder than it seems,
I know you’ve found someone else
I know in my heart I still love you
But it’s time for me to move on elsewhere
