I see the depression as calm now,
Like the ocean,
As just something that surrounds me,
Something I’m covered in,
Something slowly breaking me apart,
That rises and falls,
And is never looked into,
Or cared about unless by certain people,
I’ve learned to live with it now,
To settle in salt,
And to understand that it gets rough sometimes,
It’s been years,
Watching it flow and change,
It grew with me,
I never told anyone about it,
And when I did I was told it was temporary,
It’s okay,
I can coexist with my ocean,
I will be fine.
