One Day

by | May 1, 1999 | Poetry

In my body, deep down in my soul,
You’re the one that I really want to know.
I look forward to the day when I can take you away,
Take you by the hand, and lead you to a warm spot in the sand.
Holding you tight,
I’ll make everything right.
Just having you near me all through the night.
The time will come for our thing to begin, but
All we are now is just two close friends.
One day I know that I’m really the one to blame,
For being scared, afraid, hesitant to make the change.
I hope and pray, day after day, that
One day I can take you away.
Be mine forever, until the end,
I hope and pray that we will never end.
