Ode to a Bubble

Sphere of soap
reflecting light and color.
Weightless but fragile,
you bounce on air.
Gently floating orb,
it’s a long fall
back to earth, and
the ground is too clumsy
to hold something
as delicate
as you.
So implode
as silently as you became,
and return
to the nothing
you have always been.
May your seconds of life
be as peaceful
as you make mine.
