Are You Real?

by | Jan 23, 2024 | Poetry

In a world black and gray
So dull, as if it decays
Is this real?
Are you real, my darling?

A world without color
Yet you yourself remains so colorful
Frightful
Are you real, my darling?

This place is vile
I hurt and I ache
But for me, my darling, stay awhile
For my sake
Are you real, my darling?

I hear your cries
Your pleas and shrieks
I promised to protect you
Then why must you leave me so
Are you real to me, my darling?

Are you real?
