The Foreign Thought

by | Sep 4, 2025 | Poetry

Thou dost not doubt:
Two entities gravitate,
breaking bounds to meet
solemnly.
Thine eyes bore down,
advocating for a pure understanding
that the preamble thought impossible.
No understanding is pure –
no connection.

Lest I ponder a worrisome afterthought,
thou shall bewitch me
till still and remorseful –
the erasure of fear,
the safety of trust;
One to reunite the other in life
shan’t forestall the cold connection born
and the lingering heat it bears.

I sought purity.
However fraught you were, so did you.
Being done and undone are opposite,
yet in time they remain
standing proud in the face of the world.
Voice loud,
shouting a tsunami wave cannot be stopped.
There is only one halting memory in my mind:
The one starting moment –
my inception with you.
