Ode to Time

Oh, time you walk beside us
But never delay,
never pause.
When I need you to slow down,
You go faster,
When I’m young,
Laughing in pain
You suddenly snap your fingers,
And it’s over.
You rush the good parts,
Speeding,
Quickly forwarding my favorite moments
But, when life is hard
You slow down,
You make me feel every second,
So, maybe I’ll just let you keep running,
I’ll let you vanish.
