Sisterly Love

by | Oct 4, 2024 | Poetry

I hope my younger brother knows that I love him
he may get on my nerves
and sometimes I want to fight him
but I hope he knows that I like him
I hope he knows while I may not always want to hang out with him
that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy his company
I love all the memories we’ve made and the jokes he has made
and I don’t want him to feel excluded but I’m going through things too
I hope he knows I’m a safe place
I know I pick on him, but I really do like him
and that I believe he’ll turn into a wonderful person.

I’m very fond of this poem. Personally, as a younger brother I felt a relatability for the author’s brother. I feel that this poem accurately portrays how despite there always being troubles, sibling love is very real. Well done to the author!
