The Rot Consumes

by | Oct 23, 2026 | Poetry

I feel it crawl
beneath my skin
as the rotting sprawls
from deep within

Beneath my skin
they make their way
from deep within
in the dark and light of day

They make their way
under my flesh
in the dark and light of day
I shall not rest

under my flesh
I feel them writhe
I shall not rest
for I am their hive

I feel them writhe
as my skin breaks
for I am their hive
and the rot escapes

As my skin breaks
I see their feat
and the rot escapes
to make its feast

I see their feat
and I close my eyes
it makes its feast
and consumes my cries
