May peace find you how winter turns to spring
With first signs often being overlooked
You breathe and feel the air that used to sting
And forget the weight of how long it took
There is nothing but a feeling of bliss
Heavy apprehension can turn to ease
You step outside and feel the warmth you’ve missed
Life’s color is returned to all the trees
The first patch of dandelions rises
From what used to be hidden under frost
No unanticipated surprises
You regain all of the hope you had lost
Familiarity in the birds’ song
Says peace was bound to come back all along
