Springfire Magazine is the literary publication for Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This online publication features a variety of work from our student writers, from creative writing to history, science, business, and more.

This journal began in 1987 as an experiment, the school’s first literary/art anthology. Those first editors used a portmanteau to name the book after the two roads facing the school: Firetower and Springdale.

They never imagined that the book would become as successful as it has, receiving top honors from scholastic press associations in its second and following years. Like many other magazines, Springfire has been an evolving process. It began as a print publication, and this year, the magazine is going online to reach a wider audience and to best serve the writers of today.
